Nurse Educator/Volunteer Coordinator

Tina R. McElravey, MPH, BSN, RN, joined PHEPP in 2015 as the Nurse Educator/Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator.  Tina directs the recruitment, retention, and training of MRC volunteers who may be asked to assist during a public health emergency.  She also facilitates and teaches specialized medical and emergency preparedness training for SCHD staff and MRC volunteers. 

Tina is a local graduate of Millington Central High School.  She received her BSN from the University of Memphis and her MPH in Health Services Administration from East Tennessee State University.  She also has a post graduate certification in Applied Epidemiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.  Tina is a strong advocate for breastfeeding and was certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (July 1996-2006). 

As a public health nurse, Tina has participated in numerous Point of Dispensing (POD) and Tabletop exercises.  She volunteers in her community and in various professional nursing organizations.  She has been a recipient of Celebrate Nursing’s Top 100 Nurses and received the coveted Celebrate Nursing’s Virginia McAskill Award for Excellence in Nursing. 

Tina enjoys spending time boating, traveling, and finding treasures at estate sales.
